Uzbekistan's place in international security rankings

The results of studies conducted by the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan show that in recent years, Uzbekistan has been recognized among countries with a high level of safety in a number of prestigious international indices and travel advisories from foreign states.

According to the results of the "Rule of Law Index 2025" published by the "World Justice Project" (WJP), Uzbekistan ranked 17th out of 143 countries globally in the "Order and Security" category, and 1st out of 15 countries in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia region. It also secured 1st place in this category within its income group.
The WJP index relies on surveys of more than 215,000 citizens and over 4,100 lawyers and experts. Therefore, this indicator is one of the most substantial sources for internationally justifying the state of internal order and safety in Uzbekistan.

2. "Gallup Global Safety Report"
Gallup's "2025 Global Safety Report" is based on the results of surveys conducted in 144 countries and territories in 2024. According to it, 86% of the population in Uzbekistan stated that they feel safe walking alone at night in the area where they live.
This figure is significantly higher than the global average of 73%. Furthermore, in Gallup's broader "Law and Order Index," Uzbekistan scored 91 out of 100 points. This index is formulated based on four indicators: the sense of personal security, confidence in the police, and personal experiences with theft and assault.

In the 2025 ranking, Uzbekistan took 67th place among 163 countries with a score of 1.926, moving up two positions compared to the previous year.
For reference: Prepared by the "Institute for Economics & Peace" (IEP), the "Global Peace Index" (GPI) is one of the most comprehensive international indices evaluating the state of peace and stability in countries.
In the 2026 "Global Peace Index" results, Uzbekistan's position improved significantly, rising to 37th place among 163 countries with a recorded score of 1.726. In other words, a rise from 67th place in 2025 to 37th place in 2026 was observed. In the official 2026 report, Uzbekistan was also listed among the countries with the most significant improvements in peace indicators.
The GPI evaluates countries based on categories such as societal safety and security, ongoing domestic and international conflict, and militarization. Therefore, this ranking reflects the overall peace and stability in the country rather than just tourism safety.

The studied sources indicate that Uzbekistan's international position in the field of safety has been continuously strengthening in recent years. In particular, ranking 17th globally and 1st in the region in WJP's "Order and Security", placing 37th out of 163 countries in the "Global Peace Index" 2026, the fact that 86% of the population feels safe walking alone at night in the Gallup survey, and the assignment of the lowest risk level — "Level 1" — by the US Department of State serve as well-founded evidence to promote Uzbekistan as a safe and stable travel destination in the international tourism market.
