Ambassador of Uzbekistan Otabek Akbarov made a trip to the Italian cities of Caserta and Naples (Campania region).

During the visit, a meeting was held with the Minister for Research, Innovation and Startups of the Campania region Valeria Fachione, during which issues of interaction in the field of economy, education, science, culture and sports were discussed.

It should be noted that in the Campania region, special attention is paid to scientific developments and innovative technologies, which are identified as a priority area for achieving sustainable development in the region. The leading spheres in the region are the aerospace industry, agricultural processing, and the leather industry. The Campania region has a wealth of experience and expertise in tourism and architecture. The spheres of green technologies and energy, nano- and biotechnologies are actively developing.

Following the meeting, agreements were reached on identifying priority areas for cooperation between the Campaign region and Uzbekistan, establishing contacts between sectoral ministries and associations, as well as companies of the two countries.

Also, meetings were held in a number of higher educational institutions of the region, including with the rector of the University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli" Gianfranco Nicoletti, during which the issues of establishing cooperation with universities of Uzbekistan for the exchange of experience and training of specialists for various sectors of the economy of our country were discussed.

As part of the trip, they also visited the enterprises of the companies "Silver Prince" (production of mattresses) and "MFT" (production of equipment for processing agricultural products), where negotiations were held with heads of companies, during which they discussed cooperation issues, in particular the development and implementation of joint investment and technological projects in Uzbekistan.
